When thoughts move quickly and emotions feel intense, finding a moment to pause can be difficult. ADHDPause offers mindfulness-based support to help adults with ADHD slow down, notice what’s happening, and respond with greater awareness. A space to explore your mind with curiosity, self-compassion and acceptance — rather than judgement.
The ADHD mind is full of possibility
An ADHD mind can be creative, curious, energetic and full of ideas. Many adults with ADHD experience a unique way of seeing the world, making connections, and approaching challenges.
At the same time, living with an ADHD mind can sometimes feel overwhelming. Thoughts can move quickly, emotions can feel intense, and attention can be pulled in many different directions.
Mindfulness is not about changing who you are or trying to make your mind work differently. It is about developing greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions and experiences — creating more space, choice and self-compassion in everyday life.
Why mindfulness for ADHD?
Living with ADHD often means experiencing life at a fast pace — with thoughts, emotions and ideas arriving quickly. Mindfulness offers the opportunity to create a moment of space between what happens and how we respond. Rather than trying to silence thoughts or force the mind to work differently, mindfulness helps develop awareness of what is happening in the present moment.
For adults with ADHD, this can support:
noticing patterns of thought and behaviour
recognising emotional responses before they take over
developing greater self-compassion
building a kinder relationship with the mind
making more conscious choices in everyday life
Mindfulness is not about becoming someone different. It is about understanding yourself better and creating more choice in how you respond.
A personal understanding of ADHD
My interest in mindfulness for ADHD comes from both professional experience and personal understanding.
After receiving my own ADHD diagnosis as an adult, I began to explore more deeply the relationship between attention, thoughts, emotions and everyday life.
Mindfulness has helped me develop greater awareness of my own patterns, create moments of pause and respond with more choice and self-compassion.
Combined with my mindfulness training and experience supporting adults through learning and development, this shapes the way I approach ADHDPause.
I don’t believe ADHD is something that needs to be fixed. It is a different way of experiencing the world — one that can bring creativity, curiosity and unique strengths, alongside genuine challenges.
How ADHDPause can support you

“James’s guidance enabled me to slow my mind and focus rather than having my mind control me. His session helped me create space, stay present and develop a mindfulness practice that I continue to use today.”
